AHA105 BLS INSTRUCTOR – INITIAL
The Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Essentials course certifies the student to teach the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for healthcare provider course and the skills check. This course is designed for individuals who are currently certified in BLS and aspire to teach Basic Life Support (BLS) to individuals such as healthcare professionals, first responders, medical students, and anyone interested in becoming certified in BLS. It also includes the ability to conduct the AHA Heartsaver courses including First-Aid, CPR, AED, Pediatric First-Aid, CPR in Schools, Bloodborne Pathogens and Family and Friends CPR.
The BLS Instructor Essentials Course is taught in a blended learning format. AHA BLS Instructor candidates must have a current BLS provider card and have completed the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course and Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Online Course before attending the hands-on session conducted by BLS Training Faculty.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Classroom is a traditional Instructor led course that covers one and two rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants. Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Bag Valve Mask (BVM) is covered along with what to do if someone is choking. A written test will be administered along with a skills assessment during the course.
